you know, as a reader of yours, I think it would be interesting to know ad revenue numbers as compared to the stranger.

circulation is, well hard to compare, or care about, when coming from a free rag thrown about the city seemingly without impunity.

hell, your print edition is now in my apt. lobby, what the hell?

Okay, but let's bring in some related numbers. What are the stats on their website use? I haven't bought an actual newspaper in years, but I read the P-I's local section every day online. I sometimes even click on their ads. Are newspapers just dying, or are people just shifting media?

And that doesn't include the past month's defections w/r/t the Blethen endorsement of 920 and McGavick.

gitai the article linked includes the tidbit that seattlepi.com online views are "up at least 20 percent compared with this time last year."

The Stranger is really keen on statistics for Times and P-I, but silent on its own.

So let's see that fixed:
1) what's the Stranger's audit circulation v. Seattle Weekly?
2) what's the prospect now that the Weekly owners control the Stranger's relationship to advertisers?
3) What's the stranger pay staff writers (those using their real names)?

Yeah, throw down your figs v. the Weekly's. Since they added "Ask an Uptight Seattleite," I'll be making sure I read them every week now.

Is this before or after when a lot of us started cancelling our Times subscriptions due to their endorsements?

Philip
Everybody here at the New Times NW knows about how corporate likes the circ numbers to come in. I threaten to cut drop sites if the returns are too high. Weekly drivers get paid per drop so they have an incentive to fudge the return numbers. Also, It's best to deliver the papers to a closed business (If you know what I mean.)
Lot's of dumpsters loaded with never delivered Weeklys. Spooky stuff. Is that why the PI guy keeps calling Kurt? (I should've been more careful to who I talked to.)
BTW Philip everybody is laughing about how you asked Fefer for more $ because of all your "extra work." We know half your extra work is "Phlipping out" over the phone and the other half is on the competitions' blog.
You should ask Andy for that bonus. LOL
