Some of the best counter-smear ads I've seen this cycle are from KY-03, where the publisher of the Louisville Alt-weekly is running against entrenched Republican bitch Ann Northup. It's here:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=waFeZ8n77F8
It goes something like:
"John Yarmuth: He plays golf with Saddam Hussein. And snatches toys away from little children."
TN-Sen could easily do something like a man-on-the-street counter having a Jack-Abramoff like character going "Hey Bob (Corker), call me!"
PS - The GOP doesn't have the high ground on morality this year, I'm afraid.
And what about the tag-line "he's just not right" sounds an a lot like "he's just not white". Or is that just me?
Racist fuckers. I hate the south.
mehlman's reponse about "no authority" to take the ad down is ludicrous.
the ad ends with "The Republican National Committee is responsible for this advertisement."
and mehlman is the head of what?
"Responsible" means something different to Republicans than it does to you and me.
My dawg, can they GET any more pathetic in their desperation?! What next, are they going to have a Harold Ford lookalike squealing, "Where de white wimmin at?" a la Cleavon Little?!
Sorry, but I haven't been following this race, but I looked at the "Fancy Ford" web site and he seems pretty tame. Seriously, $200 for a shirt? Who the hell cares? Somehow I don't think any Republicans are shopping at the Ross.
As bad as this one is, when this is taken with the Zucker commercials, the Vern Robinson spots, and the RNC terror ad, it really shows that anyone that follows the Republican party line is a fascist sub-human that has no place in any office higher than municipal dogcatcher.
I really think that blonde "bimbo" is a male. If you watch the video carefully, you'll notice the voice is dubbed. The hair appears to be a wig, and at the very end, this "girl's" hand is pretty big for a girl. Also, you can really see the male characteristics in the face, particularly the eyes and forehead.
This is a guy dressed up like a woman, designed to subtly confuse the audience and make them squeamish. It's all part of the GOP playbook.
