I hate that guilt-tripping BS where they hand you a CD, you start to take it, and then they tell you it's for sale. Why would I want to buy a CD when I have no idea what the hell it is? It's not like the idea of people handing out free CDs is completely unheard of (hell, the music press and radio are completely sustained by the practice).

Sorry, I just needed to get that off my chest, because I am too chicken to say anything when it happens in real life.

Why would anyone want a CD from some dude on the street even if it WAS free?

I agree with Fnarf.
I've never had this happen to me. What an asshole.

Hmmm, yeah and the bigger "organized" panhandlers are picking up on the guilt trips. Day before yesterday a guy either promoting Greenpeace or Save the Children by Westlake was trying to get my attention/stop me by shouting come talk to the black man repeatedly in lesser volumes as I approached, of course. But instead ot trying to make me feel guilty for not stopping/talking/or giving because I was on a schedule/tired/poor/suspicious ... it became a skewed racial encounter.

I want to be able to wear a shirt that says No Soliciting so that I can sue anyone that speaks to me. Unfortunately that would just illicit far more inappropriate comments of an entirely different nature.
