Wow. The Greens say they are all about ideals, but in practice they accept $ covered in blood. What a shame.

What alliegance, if any, do the various US Green Parties owe to the Green Party in other countries? Because the Greens in places like Germany and Australia don't shame themselves this way.

Couldn't agree with you more, Dan.

So why is The Stranger playing the role of Green Party on the viaduct issue through it's dogmatic promotion of the no-rebuild option? Sure, it would be great to get some cars off the road, but no-rebuild has no chance. It just bleeds support from the tunnel, which would at least provide a public green space on the waterfront that is friendly to pedestrians and bicyclists.

Where does that leave us? With a big, loud, ugly, elevated highway that saves a little money by cutting out the green space.

FNARF: "Because the Greens in places like Germany and Australia don't shame themselves this way."

That's because the rest of the world has a parliament system with proportional representation. Under that system, Green votes put Greens in parliament, where moderates must form coalitions with them. In our winner take all system, green votes put Republicans in office.

Stupid, stupid founding fathers.

No they don't Sean. That's why the Greens killed off most NDP seats in BC in the last Canadian election, even though they would have beat the Conservatives.

I wonder who contributes to Bob Casey's campaign?

I'm sure he only takes money from respectable people. Only Republicans and other parties accept campaign contributions from individuals and corporations interested in having influence in our government and/or the outcome of our pristine and above board elections.

Only the tools and fools of the radical right compromise their integrity, right?

The Green Party does not stand for ideals or any of that bullshit. They are a bunch of self-interested whores that are only concerned with helping Democrats lose so that they can claim that they would have won if they would have listened to what they want, thus increasing their "influence". They always have the same line: "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me."

I would vote for Bush, McGavick and Santorum before I voted for Ralph Nader, Aaron Dixon and Carl Romanelli because at least you know what you're doing and getting by voting Republican. The Greens can fuck themselves.

Oh yeah, Nader said that there was no difference between Bush and Al Gore or between Bush and John Kerry. Does anyone possibly still believe that today?
