politicized? He gave a fucking campaign speech for every midterm race. The only thing he left out is "The liberals kill little kittens for fun."

Hey Stranger Geniuses-

Today's mainstream media has an article on, you guessed it, Genius!

http://www.cnn.com/

You forgot this news from Sudan

"Sudan man forced to 'marry' goat"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4748292.stm

"Voters may be asked to pick between a tunnel or a rebuild of the Alaskan Way Viaduct"

what a scam. RTID taxes would go up over the entire Sno., Pierce and King county area for the extra $800M the tunnel would cost, but only seattle voters get to decide "tunell vs. rebuild." Too bad everyone whose taxes would increase aren't going to get to weigh in on the decision . . . .

EG, only Seattle voters get to pay the extra BILLIONS in taxes that would result from building such an underwater tunnel in the first place.

So, sod off.

The legislature isn't even slightly interested in what Seattle voters think. Seattle pols believe that what they think, say and do matters, but they are mistaken.

Will, the most recent estimates from the mayor's office would be that the additional amouont of RTID money needed would be $800 M for the tunnel. That would not be needed for the rebuild option.

Everyone knows those numbers are not only inaccurate, but laughably low-ball. Why do you think the Governor demanded actual cost projections by someone QUALIFIED to do so?

Mark my words - in the end, the tunnel will cost, with all financing costs, about ten times what it would have cost to build the green line monorail - and with ZERO addition to capacity for all that waste.

The point is, RTID has not said it would give ANY money to the rebuild option, and the mayor's tunnel financing plan calls for $800 M of RTID money up front. What that would mean for ALL the RTID taxpayers (not just the RTID taxpayers in Seattle) is anyone's guess now. You are correct that there would be additional taxes on Seattle folks if the tunnel is greenlighted (of some kind). What is not clear is how much of one or the other RTID taxes would increase on everyone in the RTID area if the tunnel is selected.

What options are there now to try to get the PWC plan as an option? Who is the best to lobby?

Golob... your deity of choice. That's who. Putting together a viable, tangible transit plan to go with the PWC idea would go a long way towards establishing its credibility, but the purveyors of the PWC plan have yet to do so.

re: complaining about Bush's politicizing of 9/11... get with it: he's been politicizing it ever since the day it happened.

Heh. I'll get right on it. Does paul allen count?

'Seattle: City of Freeways'. 6 weeks till I blow this burg. Have fun, folks.

...and Welcome Deion Branch. A guy who can catch and a guy who can cut. Not too weentsy to take a hit, for a fucking weents. I love it.

He's pretty loaded. Give it a shot.

He's got the size of the fight in the dog.
