Shake the Shack, Indeed

Posted by on September 23 at 9:39 AM

A friend of mine was leaving the Rockabilly Ball in Ballard last night when he encountered what sounds (and sorta looks) like a rather awesome sight. Apparently a cop car had just plowed straight through the front window of Matt’s Hot Dogs. It’s not much to go on, but here’s the photo he sent me from his cell:

Here’s the reason, according the the Seattle Times. Did any Slog readers witness this dangerous/hilarious spectacle themselves?

Please either carry a real camera, or don't bother. These blurry postage stamp images from cell phone cameras you see all over blogs are worse than useless.

so, what, it managed to somehow obliterate the mental image you had of a cruiser-in-a-hotdog-shop?

hang on, I'll call you a whaaaambulance.

Well, the conference of birds! so i dont own a "real" camera. and the postage stamp you see happened to be right there. so whatever. i was there. so a "real" camera.

what's with the peanut gallery?
oh hold on, I've been out dancing but let me set up my 10 megapixel camera and tripod because people on tha intarweb told me I had to. I carry them with me at all times.

uhm. duh.

hannah, what's even funnier (thankfully no one was hurt in the scary truck-woman's rampage) was the media discussion last night on the 11 o'clock news where the incrunched establishment was repeatedly referred to as a "hot dog restaurant".

hot dog restaurant?! ha ha!

pee ess: happy birthday!

No, no, and no. I'm right and you're all wrong.

I don't know why you would bring a camera to a bar, but if all you have with you is your phone, then you don't have a camera. Too bad. You could maybe use the phone to call your friend and ask them to bring you a camera, if you want a picture that badly.

What you shouldn't do is waste your time trying to use the so-called "camera" that some product marketing flack shoehorned into your phone. Camera phones are a stupid gimmick, and people who fall for stupid gimmicks look like dupes. It's sad because it is true.

grace:
uhh, the incrunched restuarant is called Matt's Famous Hot Dogs... would this not be a hot dog restaurant?
