I was stung in the foot by one of those things a couple of years ago. It really hurt. I didn't cry-tears were shooting out of my eyes.

He is only the second person ever to die from a stingray wound. Considering he's held a taipan by the tail, that's pretty ironic. This really sucks for his family, but also for all of us. Irwin may have been a geek, but he did more for wildlife and habitat preservation than just about anyone in history. Australia will miss him, and so will I.
