Apparently Warren Buffet Is Polyamorous

Posted by on September 5 at 11:34 AM

In reading about the recent marriage of financial wizard Warren Buffet, I came across this revealing snippet:

“The pair have been living together since the late 1970s. Nothing unusual about that, except that Mr Buffett also had an apparently close and loving marriage to another woman, Susan, until her death in 2004. The trio even sent out Christmas cards signed “Warren, Susie and Astrid”…The two women proceeded to “share” the billionaire….Mr Buffett spent a good deal of time with his wife — they often appeared at functions together…(His now-wife) Ms Menks would pack him off to see her, apparently without a trace of jealousy, and would sometimes appear beside her smiling, talking and even holding hands.”

Sounds like a lovely arrangement to me.

Especially the part about the guy having a billion dollars.

Yet another reason why Warren Buffet seems to be the most reasonable, level-headed guy on the planet.

A guy with two wives seems reasonable and level-headded?
(rim shot)
Thanks folks, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

It seems like his wives are the ones who are reasonable. He gets to sleep with two women, they're the ones mature enough not to get jealous over it.

Proving once again that money CAN buy you love ...

True. I just admire a man who can effectively manage a polyamorous relationship (here's hoping it wasn't strictly polygamist), and refuses to leave any of his gazillions of dollars to his children, because he wants them to put in the same time and effort he did to get where he is.

Conversely, now that I think about it, maybe he just has an incredibly misguided perception of human nature and potential.

Hey, sign me up for a billionaire timeshare. My husband won't mind.

Naw, Warren's wife left him and moved from Omaha to SF to be a cabaret singer. She loved him, but being married to a guy who freely admits to love nothing better than to read financial statements day and night got old after a while. She took up with other men but never divorced him or told him about it, knowing he couldn't handle it. She even set him up with a friend of hers (the woman he just married). Those are the only two women he's ever been involved with. Hardly poly at all.

What? There were no cabarets in Omaha?

yeah, there was a cabaret in omaha. that's where the first wife met the second (she was a waitress there).
