This museum is located in Tianjin, China.

Recently completed, the museum was designed by Shin Takamatsu and is said to be China’s second largest building. Usually I reject buildings that are inspired by animal shapes—in the case of this museum it is a swan—but the fancy lights and massive elegance of the new museum have turned my critical weapons into harmless glitter, and I’m forced to surrender. I’m seduced. I’m naked. I’m all yours, you heavenly thing.

I have no idea what that thing is, but I keep getting the feeling that we're a LOT further behind the rest of the world than I thought.

I wish you'd link, Charles.

Wow! I get the feeling that it would take hours just to make it in the front door, and then I'd just wonder when the lift off would be...

cHINA IS BUILDING WONDER STRUCTURES AS PART OF GETTING READY FOR THE OLYMPICS.

AMAZING NEW MATERIALS, AND ENGINEERING MARVELS.

THE WORLD WILL BE IMPRESSED, AND THE LEGACY WILL EXTEND FOR DECADES, MANY, MANY YEARS.

REMIND ME OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF BRAZILA, THE NEW IDEAS AND DETERMINATION TO MOVE INTO NEW DESIGN AND ENGINEERING.

And is reminding you of Brasilia supposed to be a compliment? Or is it a put-down?

THAT was an image I didn't need.

*hands Charles back his clothes*

I hear you can get to it on high-speed passenger rail, like the systems that exist in all industrialized nations - ok, except for the US.

I love that you post this stuff. . .yeay. . .!

Charles I wouldn't even know China had architecture, if it weren't for you posts. They're dreamy and poetic.
