Strange Statues From Around the World

Posted by on August 8 at 13:18 PM

It’s difficult to choose which one of these oddities to draw your attention to, so I’m just going to post a few:

Wait until you see the one we're building in Fremont, just north across the street from Lenin!

Concrete pours for the LED lighting and sensor cables in a couple of weeks - costing quite a bit - gonna be fun having Space in Fremont - think maybe web link at www.fremontartscouncil.org - not sure what sublink is, though.

Wow. I can't believe you chose not to post the Man Fights Babies photo.

I'd love to see what would happen if someone tried to put up one of the vaginal ones in Seattle -- 41 in the first series, 24 in the second.

They missed this one, in Manly Beach, Sydney, Australia:

hey, Ivan, you getting ready for the Burn?

Those statues are hilarious! All those clit shots make me realize how open and liberal Europe, etc are compared to North America. On another note - in my hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, city council got the "great" idea to put up statues of bison (ie buffalo) painted in garish colours all over the city. In the interests of autheniticity, the statues had anatomically correct genitals. Pretty soon the testicles were being stolen off the statues. I'm not sure how to link a website to a word, so here's a link the old fashioned way:

The link is rampantly stereotypical about Canadians, ie "Hey Buck! Whatcha doin' tonight, eh? Since it's not hockey night, wanna steal some bison statues testicles, eh?" but whatever. It's funny.
