Ladies and Gentlemen, Your Commander-in-Chief

Posted by on August 7 at 11:46 AM

Ignoring statement by his own generals, Bush dismisses concerns about civil war:

You know, I hear people say, Well, civil war this, civil war that. The Iraqi people decided against civil war when they went to the ballot box. And a unity government is working to respond to the will of the people. And, frankly, it’s quite a remarkable achievement on the political front.

In other news, Peter Galbraith reports that one year before his “Axis of Evil” speech, Bush met with several Iraqi-Americans who described what they believed the political situation in Iraq would be after the fall of Saddam Hussein.

During their conversation with the President, Galbraith claims, it became apparent to them that Bush was unfamiliar with the distinction between Sunnis and Shiites.

Galbraith reports that the three of them spent some time explaining to Bush that there are two different sects in Islam—to which the President allegedly responded, “I thought the Iraqis were Muslims!ā€¯

Meanwhile, a Bloomberg poll revealed that Bush’s approval rating among young voters is lower than in any other group: 20 percent, with 53 percent disapproving, compared to 40 percent in the US population as a whole.

Bush is the most pro-Israel president we have ever had. America needs to stand strong with Israel now. The Stranger has gone against conventional Seattle wisdom and been pro-war. Bush is the best American president Israel has ever known, and many in the Seattle Jewish community appreciate what Bush has done for Israel.

John Kenneth Galbraith isn't doing too much reporting these days. I think it was his son, Peter, who was ambassador to Croatia.

So why are you telling us? We already know this.

How did Kerry lose to this dumbshit?

Fixed it. Duh!

"I thought the Iraqis were Muslims". Beautiful, just beautiful.

You think the poll is bad, the online Wall Street Journal poll has more than 60 percent saying Iraq is in a civil war today.

Only incompetent fools believe Bushies and their lies.

I urge you to watch this:

George Bush is ignorant about religion. I'll bet he can't even tell you if Mercer Island is mostly Reformed Jews or Orthodox Jews. He'd just say "Mercer Island is Jewish." What an idiot that man is.

sigh - ok, GWB probably believes Fallen and Three Moons over Milford are happening right now, and is setting up commissions to investigate the asteroid that hit the moon and how to combat fallen angels with cruise missiles.

are you happy?

I thought the goddam rapture was scheduled for last Thursday. What, did it happen and only one person went? Why are all these fundy fruitbat assholes still here?

As kos pointed out, this is a bit like claiming the US didn't have a civil war because we elected Lincoln in 1860.

Dang, I missed the Rapture?

Figures ...

Good point, Aexia.

Is it the Reformed Jews or the Orthodox Jews in the U.S. that are pro war? Or are all groups equally pro-Israel. Anyone know what the different Jewish sects in the U.S. think about Israel?
