10 Minutes…

Posted by on August 8 at 16:50 PM

…until the polls close in Connecticut. Meanwhile, why not enjoy a nice YouTube video or two.

UPDATE: Any exit polls? Nope. The final, official results in the Lieberman-Lamont race won’t be in until tomorrow morning (although it should be pretty clear who won by about 10 p.m. tonight).

FURTHER UPDATE: With 3 percent of precincts reporting, Lamont is beating Lieberman 59.6% to 40.4%. And I’m signing off… To watch the results come in, click here.

The fucking state elections website crashed, thanks to out of staters like me trying to find out what the hell is going on.

Lamont has been fairly maintaining a 56%... Atrios has a few alternative websites listed for results...

With 25% of precincts reporting it's now 55% Lamont and 45% Lieberman

Hey, this is fun:

34% in, 54.1% Lamont, 45.9% Lieberman. Narrowing. But if I recall correctly, NYC precincts tend to come in last, so are they going to big for Lamont (anti-war) or big for Lieberman (Jewish)? Plus they say the absentees won't be finished until August 25, which is ridiculous and should be illegal, but there you have it.

38% in: Lamont 53.6%, Lieberman 46.4%. We're into the poll margin-of-error now.

44% in: Lamont 53.1, Lieberman 46.9.

Fuck. This is giving me an ulcer.

With over 54% reporting it's getting even closer:

Lamont 52%
Lieberman 48%

At least the change in the last 4% reported was very minimal...

Ack.

Lamont took my money—$2100 worth—and I hope it's lucky, no jinxed. Christ!

make that 7% now...

Something tells me we won't know the final result until Labor Day or so.

A little better:

Latest Results 9:33 PM ET

Joseph I. Lieberman 72,964 47.8%
Ned Lamont 79,580 52.2%

57% of Precincts Reporting

64% reported
Lamont 51.6 89,814
Lieberman 48.4 84,213

Fuck...

"The suspense is horrible. I hope it will last." Oscar Wilde

Now 71% reported... percentages about the same

He's holding but... shit... it would be nice to see him get a bump up on one of the vote dumps, not just skid along or lose ground. Shit, shit, shit.

Indeed, I find that just as disheartening. But as long as he holds even a small lead to the end...

Very slight increase for Lamont, about .1%
