New Issue

cover-big.jpgIf you can tear yourself away from Slog for a bit, tomorrow’s paper is online now. If you have 30 minutes, read Eli’s story about sketchy goings on at the Quinault Apartments and how tenants are trying to reclaim their building. If you only have 5 minutes, read about a giant redevelopment project coming to Pike/Pine and get an update on the Critical Mass incident.

Perhaps the Pike/Pine community review meeting information would have been better reported on the Slog or in last week's issue.

Was it really earlier today? How does one find this info (other than by spotting the signs)? I live between this potential development and the dozen or so going up just north of downtown & west of I-5. I'd like to check these meetings out.

It appears they'll be seeking a LEED Silver certification.

That would suck if Linda's or Bill's off Broadway were affected by this building, but I wouldn't be sad to see the War Room go. Every time they have a hip hop night the neighborhood is flooded by a bunch of jackasses who have no respect for other people in the neighborhood. I'm sick of being harassed for having the audacity of walking by that place on a Saturday night. I'm also sick of them plastering their flyers all over the place.

98122: You can get on the Pike/Pine Urban Neighborhood Coalition (P/PUNC)'s mailing list by writing to Chip Wall at chipwall@gmail.com. They send notices of meetings like this and monitor other neighborhood issues.

Hip Hop has nothing to do with it. It is racist to blame Hip Hop music for neighborhood problems. If Seattle were not so white, you could never get away with making statements like that about Hip Hop music.

I wasn't blaming Hip Hop, I was blaming The War room's Hip Hop night.

I blame pResident Bush.

Thanks, Amy Kate!
