Further Developments…

Posted by on July 18 at 12:02 PM

…in the stories of the day: Iran’s Hizbollah has announced that it’s ready to attack Israeli and U.S. interests worldwide, while Bravo/NBC’s Project Runway is undergoing some explosive upheaval of its own.

[Updated at 1:01 pm to remove overstated connection of Iran’s Hizbollah to Lebanon’s Hizbollah.]

Oh, this is good. I can't wait to watch his ass get freshly toasted on Wednesday.

(That would be Keith Michael's toasted ass, just to clarify.)

Damn it! Keith was my favorite.

David: you are misrepresenting the article you site about Iran's Hizbollah. Did you actually read it?

Yes, but now I see that I'm overstating the alliance. I'll tweak it..

In re: Keith's possible design plagiarism - looks like a deliberate setup to me, to create more drama for the show. Fine with me, so long as they get rid of Neck Tattoo Boy soon. He's really annoying.

Oh, and Keith's winning design was boring and ordinary. I don't think sheets should have been permitted as a major component of the designs, given the nature of the challenge - it's just a big flat piece of material. Originality should have gotten more brownie points - my pick was definitely the coffee-filter dress. Who the hell woulda thunk you could make coffee filters into such a pretty garment?

Brilliant connection between Project Runway and the War. The fashion war is a lot more interesting to me and just as important. None of it really matters so you might as well have fun. I'm hosting friends to watch the new Runway episodes, anyone have ideas about what snacks to serve?

ooooh this IS juicy! (the PR bit)

FWIW, Keith has responded:

hey guys-
love your site and i read it often. so when i read the latest comments about me i thought it might be time to write in. for the record, i submitted 5 portfolios for the judges review. the one you seem to be focusing on was a research assignment i did for a client in which i reviewed key fashion trends. i’m very proud of all the work that i do. the panel of judges that reviewed my work had many years of experience behind them. i found them neither ignorant, uninformed or in any way confused about their own profession.

the PR thing is a potential spoiler. u may want to put a warning before the link.
