Criminal Boredom

Posted by on July 5 at 8:28 AM

This is just the kind of thing that gives potheads a bad name (along with Cheech and Chong, short-term memory loss, and residual Cheeto dust under fingernails): A Vermont teenager has been sentenced to prison after confessing to cutting off the head of a corpse to make a bong.

His professed motive: boredom.

Full story here.

Wow...that could've been a scene right out of Half Baked...

Ew. I'm glad it wasn't.

Does anybody at The Stranger care that Knute Berger has resigned from the Seattle Weakly?

Duuuuuuude. that's awesome...

"They say marijuana leads to other drugs. No it doesn't, it leads to fucking carpentry. That's the problem, folks. People getting high going, "Wow man, this box would make an excellent bong! *snort* This guy's head would make an excellent bong! *snort*" Relax!"

Kid should have listened to Leary.

And for his next trick: cutting the head off a live person to make a bong.

Really, isn't this how serial killers get started?

The sentence seems a wee harsh. Afterall, it was a corpse. 14 months should have been enough. Why lock him up for 7 years?

Somehow, I suspect this kid wasnt a hippie, but a black or death metal fan who just purchased( or downloaded) the latest Cannibal Corpse CD.

Cloudbstingkid: Clearly this story is an allegory for Knute's resignation from the Weekly. Duh.

Seme: Perhaps the harshness of the sentence is based not on the bong-related decapitation, but on the kid's theft of the dead man's bowtie and eyeglasses.

Clearly it is David. Knute was known to wear a bowtie and eyeglasses from time to time.

Sorry for not making the connection earlier.

Oh please! Who DIDN'T saw the head of a corpse to make a bong when they were teenagers? You move on, you know?

Are there instructions for this kind of project?

On the internet, somewhere?
