Those are personal attacks, PA. Santorum and his talibani allies are attacking gay people and families, for crying out loud—and our kids, most of whom will grow up to be straight. I don't think Santorum should get to attack me personally, and from a much larger bully pulpit, and then hide behind "civiil discourse! civil discourse! and what about my kids!" when I take a swing back at him.

I totally agree with you about the need to take back the Senate even if all of the D's we elect aren't pro choice. And I agree that it will overall be much better for choice. But I have to disagree with this, "Electing one or two pro-life Dems is the price we’re going to have to pay to put reliably pro-choice Dems in positions of power all over the Senate." We'll be putting one of the most anti-choice Dems in the country in the most powerful position in the Senate (assuming there isn't a leadership fight). Yeah, Reid is less batshit crazy than Frist (last time I checked, he never used a highly edited video as a diagnostic tool). Still, he is an anti-choice Mormon.

Besides, even if the playground buzz these days is all about the buttlove, so what? I went to school with kids whose last names resembled the words "douchebag", "fucker", "titties" and "shitter" and guess what their nicknames were? (My last name is somewhat similar to the nickname of a legendary male porn star. Something I didn't appreciate until college) It's this sort of thing that makes us such interestingly neurotic adults.

Stop scraping the bottom of the barrel and trying to pass it off as virtue. Santorum is a prick, and deserves every bit of contempt he gets.

On a different note, but slightly related, I wonder if Santorum is in favor of his aide telling everyone her favorite tv show is gay!

Getting rid of Santorum is key this year, but who will rid us of Casey in 6 years?

What about the fact that both Casey and Santorum take money from over 200 of the same PACs? HMOs, defense contractors, pharmaceutical companies, all sorts of organizations- they give money to BOTH SIDES? Why doesn't Bob Casey care about that? I would think that would be a more reasonable thing to fear, when you're trying to differentiate yourself from an incumbent, to not have your strings pulled by the same corporate donors.

But that's just me.

There are many more reasons some of us will NOT support Bob Casey other than him being anti-choice. Casey is also anti stem cell research, pro-war, anti gay adoption rights, pro death penalty, anti gun safety laws, pro flag burning amendment, pro patriot act, pro Alito, and against separation of church and state.

It's fine if you want to support him but please don't act like the only some Democrats won't is that he's anti-choice. I cannot bring myself to vote for such a right-winger just because he's running against Santorum. I'd rather wait 6 years and replace him with a real Democrat.

I can think of exactly one time Mr. Culture of Life El Smirko (aka GWB) has defended the life of someone who was already born, and that was someone who had been in a persistent vegetative state for 15 fucking years when he intervened.

As much as I'd love Pennsylvania to be as liberal as one of the more North Eastern states, the fact is that it just isn't, and unfortunatly it will take many years before that changes.

A Casey victory will only hurt the Democratic Party long wrong. I would have sent the money to Santorum and said I hope you defeat the spineless Casey.

Casey isn't going to help you guys persuade Pennsylvanians to accept the Democratic Party agenda. In the battle of ideas Conservative Casey isn't the guy you want advancing your cause.
