Burgers, Evesdropping

Posted by on July 11 at 13:13 PM

May I suggest the Linda’s burger at Linda’s? I went for lunch yesterday—Linda’s has been open for lunch for a few weeks now—and had the best burger I’ve had in a long time. Juicy, bacony, chow-downable. Sub a side salad for the fries, get blue cheese dressing, smear the blue cheese dressing on the burger as you go. This = heaven.

Overheard while I was there (from the table behind me): “If you can’t multi-task as a barista, you should fucking not do it.”

UPDATE: Cienna Madrid interviews a Linda’s burger in this week’s paper. (How could I have missed that?)

I miss their chimichanga. Oooh, i miss it so much.

Definitely sub the salad. Their fries are horrible.

Yummy I guess, supposing you don't mind ingesting a bit of this.
(Salinomycin is an extremely potent antimicrobial agent added to cattle feed to prevent the rumen of cattle from exploding from ingesting grain rather than grass - their natural food.)
As an accompanying illustration I offer this photo of a bovine manure lagoon.

Yeah, wazzup with Linda's fries these days? They used to have some of the best around: golden crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth buttery soft on the inside. Now they're even worse than those salty, limp fingers of grease-soaked spuds the kids at Dick's occasionally scrape from between the serving window and the fry station.

Lighten up Kinaidos! I'm sure you can get a tofu-riffic treat somewhere else.

Are you guys fucking kidding me? Their fries are SOOOOO much better than they used to be. Ugh. I could barely finish a half order of those pale freezerrific tasteless sticks. Now they're all salty goodness.

If you're hung up on thier fries, get the burger to go and head on over to Frites on Pike. The best made when you order fries around AND sauces to compliment the fries and the burger! Have a picnic in the park or something!

I don't know what you're talking about, Annie. I never had any freezer fries previously when I ate at Linda's. They used to be more akin to what you get at Frites up the Hill.

Now, they're nearly identical to McMenamin's, but limper & greasier.

no comte, you blessedly missed the linda's middle period: they were not steak fries, frites fries, or any variety of thick and salty. they were skinny and pale and tasteless.

At least please tell me Linda's still has O-Rings. I'd sub those for the fries, even at extra cots.
