Hmmm, I wasn't aware that the GOP held the copyright on corruption
.

Um...Josh...don't you mean 1992, not 1994? I know you spent '92 in a closet in Philly reading acounts of the janitors in the U.S. Emabassy in Iran's experience during the hostage taking but...

Yes, of course I mean 1994.

You know how everyone is ssaying 2006 could be the Democrats' very own 1994 (GOP Revolution.)

You dunderhead.

Then there's this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060601/ts_afp/iraq_060601121305

I saw it last night, and I can't believe it isn't already a huge deal - in fact, it was kind of hard to find this morning. So there was a man driving a car in an unauthorized area, and the disabling shots fired managed to KILL the two women (one of them pregnant, the other "pre-pregnant") in the car, while leaving the driver alive?

Can we please just leave now?

It's going to get a lot worse. Especially once Bush uses nukes on Iran in July.

Umm..."dunderhead"....ok...lets just say you stick to journalism and i'll stick to retail politickin.

Levislade - i think that kind of stuff (attrocious fersure) happens every day over there. I think Haditha(ish) incidents are probably frequent and un-reported as well. If you look at the accounts of Quaker missionaries and foreign aid workers and journalists in Vietnam you'll see that My Lai was not an exceptiopnal event at all, rather it was a frighteningly "normal" occurence. This is why you make certain when sending 18 year olds with guns to a very scary place, it is done only out of critical necessity.

In a previous thread it was suggested that to say that Dems don't have a platform is to invoke a right wing red herring.

But you don't have to be right wing to see that the Dems don't have a substantial platform other than being anti-Bush. They have no equivalent Contract With America in 2006. This isn't 1994.
