Seems that Burner is really burning away while Reichert is trying desparately to rekindle his dying fire. If there ever was a clear chioce for the voters of the 8th Congressional District, this is it.

With Bush's low polling numbers you know he's not here to rally the troops. He's here to tap the faithful wealthy whose net worth he increased with his tax cuts for the millionaires at the expense of the rest of America.

By the way, is this trip being paid for by Reichert and the Republican Party or is Bush charging it to the taxpayers?

So, Eli, why didn't the poll ask the one question that matters? i.e. Would you vote for Dave Reichert or for Darcy Burner? Because the results weren't results you wanted to see?

And don't give me some lame answer about timing or how you're not supposed to ask that question at this time. Horseshit. The election is in less than 5 months. They should know by now that Burner is running against reichert for the 8th District seat and should know who they're leaning towards.

Gomez, of course the Burner campaign asked that question, and of course it will release only what fits its agenda. So what? Reichert would do the same thing. The simple fact of the matter is that he is an unusually vulnerable incumbent. Right now that is the news.

Eli - are you a reporter? And have you ever read a poll before?

The fact that you take VERY seletive data, from a month old poll taken over 6 days and make a big deal about it is pathetic.

I would suggest that it is a sign of desperation and zero traction for the Burner camp to push this crap to you...and you might as well admit that you have absolutely no clue as to the mechanics of campaign by swallowing hook-line-and-sinker. Neither of you have any credibility.

If they had good numbers, they would have relased more than these few questions and done so before the numbers got stale.

Yadda yadda party line... So there's something the Burner camp don't want us to know. Great. That should send everyone's confidence sky high.

I bet they asked the question and Reichert had her number by at least 25 points. Because if she polled ahead of him, the camp would have gladly told us.

With Burner's name ID of only 46%, of course the head to head isn't going to be very good. But there's plenty of upside.

The scary thing for Reichert is that his reelect number is 33% - that's not even just below 50%, that's approaching Dick Cheney-an levels. And his name ID is probably sky-high, meaning he has little to no up side.

Well, neat. But with the election only five months away, that's an important fact to note. The election is in November, and not only is she trailing Reichert, not even half of polled voters know who she is, let alone what she stands for!

She bit off way more than she can chew. I'm in agreement with others who suggested that she start in a lower office and develop a following, experience and political credibility.

On the contrary, I would suggest that many Democratic activists in Seattle will be donating time and money to the Darcy campaign since we DON'T have to do so for McDermott.

There's plenty of summertime to get her name recognition up.

Gomez' argument that Burner shouldn't run due to lack of experience is pretty pathetic. The incumbent's experience is minimal and almost universally regarded as rubber-stamping Bush's unpopular agenda. With less than 5 months to go, Burner's campaing certainly does have a lot of work to do, and I expect you will see her doing it (rather than merely sucking up to big donors).

Those of us that actually LIVE in the 8th have seen neither hide nor hair of the 'little candidate that wants to'... one would think her time would be better spent attempting to convince her district that she actually has something to offer rather than pandering to a few loony leftys in Seattle that can't offer her even one legititimate vote... and should those loony leftys venture into the 8th on her behalf...what do you think their reception will be?

This is all rather amusing listing to the fine people of Seattle act like they have any idea what the people of the 8th congressional think and who they will vote. Burner has a snow flakes chance in hell out here. But please Seattle spend all the money you want on her, the fact that her support comes from Seattle is the kiss of death in the 8th

I have a question for Max, and others who like to say that Reichert is "almost universally regarded as rubber-stamping Bush's unpopular agenda". Have you ever taken the time to actually go check out Reichert's voting record?

Do a little independent research instead of just repeating something you heard someone say that sounded good to you.
