Pride 2006: The Movie

Posted by on June 27 at 11:30 AM

As I wrote on the Slog yesterday, the 2006 Pride Festival at Seattle Center was 10 billion times better than any fests of yesteryear held at Volunteer Park.

Seattle Center Pride offered up an array of indelible images, from the numerous sweet queer families with newborns to the massive flesh gyration in the Center fountain. But for many festival attendees, the essence of Pride 2006 can be found in this YouTube video.

It's. . .

Monty. . .

Python's. . . .

Flying Circus!

at least he was wearing pants on sunday.

How about a video of the fountain/jock party everyone keeps gabbing about?

Cienna-

You must have missed him in the parade flashing his junk every five feet.

Not cool.

i can't pass up this opportunity to relieve myself of a traumatic experience with this freak. he and his leather daddy were walking down 15th ave about a year ago and this guy had his hands down the back of leather daddy's, uh, leather pants, and his arm was moving back and forth in a motion indidcating a bit of anal fingering was going on. it was the middle of the day and very obvious what was happening. i'm not sure exactly what his hand was doing down the back of other dudes pants, but the vision still haunts me to this day.

--Kate

I averted my eyes after running into him nude on saturday and nearly shaking hands with his flaccid penis.

sigh. If only I had hooks for hands, this wouldn't be a problem.

And with the amount of scarves that guy always has, you'd think he could at least piece together a nice hula inspired skirt...

Who says you can't anal finger in the middle of the day? Is that some sort of obscure etiquette rule like what kind of handbags are appropriate for lunch?

Awesome. But like GBM, I'd also love to see some pix/footage of the fountain party. Post a link, people!

OK, enough. Having seen this guy at every outdoor festival in the city the past few years, it's pretty clear he has a pretty serious mental disorder going on. Can we stop making fun of him and start getting him some help?

It's funny to post video of people and ridicule them. It builds community. Just make sure video is of the poor, the disenfranchized. Compromising video of affluent or privledged people is just not that funny. For example who'd want to watch candid footage of Dan Savage fighting with his boyfriend, or diciplining their child? That would be inappropriate. Remember the privledged have a right to their privacy.

However, video of weird poor people who's only pathetic joy in life is wearing scarves in a parade is hilarious! Can anyone post video of that one legged, homeless, disabled veteran in Spokane being burned alive? It could be a laugh riot!

i would love to see a candid video of dan and boyfriend having a hissy fight, panties in a bunch and all! That would be Rich i tell ya![p]

[/p]Seriously, the "scratchy" dancer has some problems that if not dealt with can land him in JAIL - attempting to talk to children whilst wearing a see through skirt (no underwear) at the intersection of Queen Anne Ave and Mercer (bus stop) is going to cause justifiable concern. Well ok, this should be a concern at any bus stop and on any day.

For all you sanctimonious bitches: That guy has been floating around Capitol Hill and downtown since most of you were still being morally self-righteous about tedious things to your junior high teachers. He's happy. Expend your tender mercies someplace else.

And yes - wealthy people are funny too. That's why we have paparazzi..

Holier than Who?

Would I, as a gay person, be considered holier than thou if I were at a gay club saw people fucking in front of me and reported this to the police?

Perhaps someone should fix my (and many other gays who think the same way) thinking on this.

It is not about being holier than the other, rather its about RESPECT for all.

In the case of a nude person walking anywhere and everywhere with "johnny" hanging around, I think this really is a case of public concern not conceit.

"Would I, as a gay person, be considered holier than thou if I were at a gay club saw people fucking in front of me and reported this to the police?"

Yes. You would be a sanctimonious prick to do that. A bar is an all-adult location, so who cares?

FYI, There are bars in this town, both gay and straight, where you can see people fucking, and yet the world goes on.

"Perhaps someone should fix my (and many other gays who think the same way) thinking on this."

No, maybe you should mind your own damn business.

I think if this were a major issue the cops would have been involved a long time ago. As I said before, this guy has been around town a long time. He's what we used to call "a character". If he were a rapist or molester, I think he'd be in jail by now. He's just a guy who looks at life a little differently. Unlike you, the only time he has a stick up his ass is when he wants it there.

Excellent. You have a right to your opinions. I tend to see things differently in that I believe that the laws governing conduct in a liquor licensed establishment (in that case) really are there to protect everyone and not just a few that think its their right to infringe upon the rights of others, Period. I mean if I really had to scratch an itch so to speak, I know what is appropriate and apparently the laws reflect what we the people suggest is appropriate.

For me its not about being repressed but more about self respect and dignity for all. Sex is fine, appropriate and responsible sex is even better - for all. The laws are there for a good reason, meaning that this apparent innocent sex (as you seem to claim) can turn out to be a purposeful and even pre meditated more serious types of crime and especially when alcohol (and drugs) are involved. Enough with this. Good bye.
