Meanwhile, The President Gets a Warm(ish) Welcome From Reichert

Posted by on June 15 at 15:03 PM

With a recent Democratic poll showing Bush’s approval rating at 26-percent in the 8th District, eastside Republican Congressman Dave Reichert offered the following press-release welcome to the president, who’s arriving tomorrow to headline a big mid-day fundraiser for Reichert in Medina:

“I’m proud to have President Bush visit Washington’s Eighth district,” said Reichert. “I grew up in southeast King County and have lived here for over 50 years. As the oldest of seven from a working class family, it is an incredible honor for someone like me to represent this district in Congress and to welcome the President of the United States to this beautiful place my family and I call home.”

Although the President and I don’t agree on everything, I have great respect for the tremendous responsibility the leader of the free world must bear every day. I welcome President Bush and I welcome his support for my reelection campaign.”

If he's welcoming Bush to where he grew up and where he lives (Auburn), then why is the fundraiser happening in hoity toighty Medina?

Will, dontachaknow those obscenely grossly over-wealthy trust fund pay-for play-folks never venture further south than I-90. Auburn! The very thought!

From the Darcy campaign, does the Stranger's staff count as free media or paid media?

Ummmmm... Could he actually list the things he doesn't agree with Bush on? 'Cause it sure ain't much!

Hey, who's paying for them to shut down all those highways and provide police services anyway? Especially at a campaign fundraiser?

Yup, Seattle taxpayers.
