Meanwhile, Down the Ballot

Posted by on June 16 at 17:38 PM

Seattle Citizens for Free Speech, the group that wants to overturn the four-foot rule in strip clubs (among other new restrictions) has raised nearly $550,000. I’m not positive, but I think that may be the largest amount ever raised for a city initiative—and the election is still five months away.

Thank God. I'm totally voting for this and will probably volunteer time. I'm fucking sick of goddamn nanny laws like this.

Jesus, $550K for a law concerning STRIP CLUBS! Who the hell is forking over that kind of cash?

My first response is, "lots of frustrated, horny guys - one dollar bill at a time."

But, more likely it's the strip club owners.

Here's an idea -- the City Council agrees to just repeal the stupid law on its own, forgoing having to deal with an election on the matter. In exchange, the existing $550,000 has to be donated to the City/County for homeless housing or public health programs or something like that. It'll never happen....
