Wednesday Jokes!

Posted by on May 16 at 17:42 PM

If you’re unsure of what to do this Wednesday, May 17th, to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day (Syttende Mai! Holla!), let me recommend Comedy Night at the Mirabeau Room.

The show will feature a bunch of local comedians saying hilarious combinations of words into a microphone. I have seen some of these joketellers perform before, and am prepared to vouch for their jokes. This week’s headliner is the extremely funny Hari Kondabolu.

Doors at 8, show at 9. $5.

or even better, go to members only, wed. is the long awaited return of HEAVY MENTAL ARMY to the decks with FITS and CHOMPERS!

at the baltic room!

You know, me being Norwegian and all, I think it's nice that anyone outside Norway notice "søttende mai", but I have to wonder why? :)

I went with my friend to this comedy event twice. First time was pretty funny, but the second time was the same thing. It's cool if you go once. I give it a 4 out of 10.~Stacy~

Hey Stacy,

That's got to be the comment that surprises me most--because every week we do something very cool and different.

Tell you what, I'll pay for your ticket to go to tonight's show...if you really think that it's the same as the two previous shows that you saw before...I'll buy you dinner.

Seriously, we work very hard to make each and every ComedyNight a unique and exciting experience--we have different guest performers on every show, each week we have different feature performers and each week we screen different short films every week... On top of that, our regular cast of performers work very hard to make certain they're always bringing something fresh and new to the stage.

Hell, I'm just thrilled to death that The Stranger has noticed that there is a cool alt-comedy scene in Seattle--coverage of local stand-ups is non-existant. We finally get someone to notice this cool thing that we're doing and we get a dj trying to hijack the thread to promote his own gig and a surprisingly unsatisfied customer, making the one comment that I NEVER thought we'd hear about ComedyNight.

That's a serious offer to you, Stacy--the worst that can happen is that you get a free ticket to see a great night of comedy...

I've been to atleast 5 of these shows, and though some are definitely stronger than others...it's worth the five bucks. Every single show has given me something to talk about and bring home with me. I think tonight's show in particular is one to watch. I've seen Harri perform a number of times and he's sensational. Definitely a talent to watch in Seattle!

Tiram -
My grandparents moved to Seattle from Norway in the '50s. I can't let the holiday of my people go unmentioned!

Peter -
I got local alt-comedy's back.
