The Verdict Is In

People who live in dense urban areas like Chicago, downtown L.A., and San Francisco produce dramatically lower levels of greenhouse gas emissions than people who live in outlying suburbs. Full-size version of the Chicago map here. (Courtesy of Gristmill.)

The hell with places like Chicago and San Francisco that have real rapid transit. I want to produce less greenhouse gas emissions because I'm so damn poor, like the place with the world's best bus service, Curitiba, Brazil.

the difference is all the fatuous gasses excreted by suburban politicians catering to so-called swing voters.

Per capita. Don't forget the words 'per capita'.

As the map says, CO2 emissions in pure quantity is still high in city centers, they're just lower per citizen the closer you get to Downtown, mainly because most of those citizens use public transport instead of personal vehicles.
