The Junior Senator

Posted by on May 18 at 16:23 PM

I don’t know much about these Congressional Power Rankings just released by this group called Knowlegis, but Sen. Cantwell didn’t do so well. She’s #93.

Murray is #46.

Complete list here.

Looks credible. I especially liked the links in the sidebar, such as:

and

"Guest Worker=Anchor Babies" - IL

I saw three of Washington's Representatives in the lower half, also.

There has to be something wrong with those rankings- Santorum is 12, Dorgan is 29, McCain 3, Frist 1. Murray should have been rated much, much lower than Cantwell.

Newsflash! Freshman Senators in the minority party lack power.

This isn't some kind of scorecard; it's an attempt to gauge the amount of power, influence and effectiveness members of Congress have relative to each other. That's why Frist is ranked 1st in the Senate - he's the Majority Leader - and most Democrats - being in the minority party - are pooled towards the bottom.

true, so long as Dems are minority, they will never rank high in power listings

But what about those hot Democratic women? At least we have that on the Rs.

Pepsodent Patty Murray broke the 50th Prcentile? If the dumbest American in America can con her way into the top half of anybody's list, the list is a con. Either that or Congress has dumbed dumbness down to court submarginal voters.
