Teasing the Truth Out of Dwight Pelz

Posted by on May 5 at 9:54 AM

Late last month, State Democratic Party Chair, Dwight Pelz told the AP that the National D party’s “murkiness” on Iraq could sap the energy of rank and file Democratic activists this fall.

Then, in this week’s story by Eli Sanders, Pelz elaborated and told the Stranger the party’s position on Iraq was making it hard to recruit activists: “The party’s position is not attractive to activists. We’re having a hard time recruiting them.”

Finally, today, Pelz elaborates even more, and breaks it down, telling The Seattle Times the problem is directly hurting Senator Cantwell. “Definitely right now there are a lot of activists who are not signing up to work on her campaign, and that’s very clear,” Pelz told Seattle Times reporter David Postman.

duh?

and the shitty times needed pelz to chime in to do a story on the overly obvious?

Hey, this post's title, Teasing It Out of Dwight by Josh Feit, is like the New Columns Advice for Iraq by Roberta Flack and ... by Jacques Chirac

Brilliant.

The article on Cantwell today was on the Times' front page. Hopefully it serves a wakeup call.

duh. I usually do 10-20 precincts for the coordinated campaign but what message is there? until we get some guts, don't count me in.

These articles highlight some of Cantwell's past trangressions such as her multiple votes supporting the Iraq war AND the Patriot Act..., but the real doozy for me is learning that now she's cosponsoring a bill (S-333) with Ricky Man-on-Dog Santorum that would give Bush clearance to move forward with his next misadventure in Iran.

So, not only did she not learn a single lesson from the great clusterfuck that was and is Iraq, but she continues to trust and enable Bush?

Drewvsea is right. Here's a post and the comments thread on S 333.

HAhaa you Libs would vote for a bum drinking his own piss too make you happy. You all will never see eye to eye and when you have a decent candidate you all get nitpicky about them and the crash and burn during elections wondering where their votes went.HAHA you all going to get lost in the sauce when it comes to 2008 and a future America that you want.

damn that 33% is loud.

brilliant! Pelz knows that whiny liberals in seattle, even us in the 36th, aren't actually going to vote against Maria in November. But what he's doing ala Karl Rove, is loudly proclaiming to folks in rural WA that Cantwell is for the war. That'll win her votes she'd otherwise not get, and neutralize McGavick on being the "support the tropps" candidate. Well played, sir!

i love dwight, time to give him his own column!

rock the bells with dwight pelz (music gossip)

something smells! by dwight pelz (political analysis)

cold-kickin' it at ezell's with dwight pelz (restaurant review and/or exploration of gentrification issues)

glad not to be one of the 32 percent who are deadenders.

When two-thirds of America doesn't support the extremist ideas of a political party, it's time to lead the lambs to the slaughter ... um, election.

Josh, Drewvsea and others have been drawn in by a stupefyin' delusion as regards the impact of IFSA. Iran Freedom Support Act supporters include all eight co-founders of the Out Of Iraq Caucus (including co-chairs Lynn Woolsey and Barbara Lee), and almost the entire Congressional Progressive Caucus.

IFSA opponents include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and President George W. Bush.

TIME TO GET BEHIND HONG TRAN!

She declared yesterday as a D. Get on it, Slog!
