Someone Asked: “Who is Hong Tran?”

Posted by on May 12 at 11:11 AM

Hong Tran is a public interest lawyer with the Northwest Justice Project who jumped into the Democratic primary against Maria Cantwell.

Tran seems pretty cool to me given that all I know about her is this: I wrote a 3,000 word article back in 1999 zooming in on a case she took up on behalf of low-income folks who were getting forced out of a trailer park in Renton thanks to $1.5 billion (today) developer Trammell Crow Residential.

she's asian, assertive, and forthright...but a little heavy on the bottom. I consider her to be a favorable type of immigrant.

never heard of Hong.

ever.

There's been rumors going around for at least 2 months that she was running. i thought it was a joke, until she announced yesterday.

The article points out a positive. It's worth researching Hong's history to see what kind of private sector life she's led.

Rumor has it that Ms. Tran is a "plant" by the Democratic elite, intended to split the anti-war vote away from Mark Wilson, and thus to make it appear after the primary that Cantwell's support among the left is significantly larger than it really is.

I can't imagine the Ds would do such a thing. Can you?
