More Republican Jitters: Reichert Among the “At-Risk” 12

Posted by on May 2 at 10:38 AM

The D.C. publication The Hill reports today that eastside Republican Congressman Dave Reichert is among 12 vulnerable legislators who are now holding weekly strategy meetings with House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) in order to craft a legislative agenda that might help them hold onto their seats.

Hat tip to Goldy.

The meetings with the staffs of vulnerable members occur once a week when the House is in session, Boehner spokesman Kevin Madden said, and staff from 12 offices usually attend.

Some of the members involved include Republican Reps. Steve Chabot (Ohio), Mike Fitzpatrick (Pa.), Jim Gerlach (Pa.), Bob Ney (Ohio), Dave Reichert (Wash.), Clay Shaw (Fla.) and Heather Wilson (N.M.). Each of those members’ districts is among the party’s most competitive, according to a chart compiled by The Cook Political Report.

Does Reichert have a position on the laughable $100 gas rebate idea yet? Is that the sort of agenda Boehner has in mind? Because I don't think it's going to help. Even the crybaby gas-whiners can see that one for the crock it is.

So why haven't the daily reporters been reporting on this race hardly? Aside from a front page story on Reichert's Kick-Off (which was really weird), they have been really ho-hum. What gives? Isn't Congress important?

the beltway is in denial on this one, even though everyone knows it's true. They figure that if it's too far to fly to and get back the same day, it doesn't exist.

"Crossed the line." Just like a bunch of crybaby bullies, huh? No balls at all.

Gutless punks. Go pick on a country your own size (oops - they'll probably take me literally. Look out Canada!)

I don't think Canada is worried. Most of their citizens have military training.

Jitters? This is the furthest thing from it. You don't think they have regular strategy sessions like this? Your just jealous becuase your Party isn't this organized.
