ITMFA: Plates In, Money Out

Posted by on May 30 at 10:50 AM

Here’s the ITMFA News…

My new Washington State License Plates have arrived!

And the checks have been sent…

$4000 to the ACLU.
$2000 to Ned Lamont.
$2000 to Bob Casey.

What an awesome fundraiser this ITMFA thing turned out to be—remember, you can order pins and buttons at ITMFA.com, and all profits go to progressive causes or candidates.

But who should get the next chunk of ITMFA change? Let me know who you think should get the next check. There’s another $2000 burning a hole in my checking acount, so write now!

$8k already - that is so great!
congrats.

826 Seattle, maybe?

This is a political fundraiser, DEX...

Sorry, I was just thinking of causes that were on my mind at the moment. Please ignore me then. :-P

Nice try with the cash to Casey but the rubes in central PA are going to vote Santorum back to the Senate. Not to mention that the PA voters are too pissed off at the state legislature to expend any energy on the U.S. Senate race. Plus, there's a former Steeler running for Governor! So many distractions.

Six more years...but I guess it's the thought that counts Dan.

What about Darcy Burner and Maria Cantwell?

Keep up the good work!

For what it's worth, I'm with Dreamer.

Hong Tran? Get real!

Jon Tester (running for Senate in Montana - really awesome guy).

What about the folks at votetoimpeach.com? They were there first, after all, and could use the money to put more ads in places where lots of folks will see them.

Darcy Burner, absolutely.
She's one of our best opportunities to take Democratic control of a House seat. Plus she's local AND she can unseat the bumbling jerk Dave Reichert.

I second votetoimpeach.org

or, take your pick...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movement_to_impeach_George_W._Bush

I third the suggestion for Darcy Burner--an excellent opportunity to unseat a republican enabler of Bush legislation in Dave Reichert.

Cantwell I suspect is in a pretty safe seat so I would hold off on her.

Union of Concerned Scientists

or

Human Rights Watch

Any good impeachment needs evidence.

Mr. Neo Realist, In actuality Maria Cantwell is like the number one target for Repub's and our gal is seen as vulnerable.

I agree with Willis, Dan. Send your extra scratch to

Jon Tester For US Senate

He's an organic farmer who represents a conservative MT district, but a guy knows regular folks. Think the opposite of John Kerry (we love you, John!)

Gotta second (er, fourth) Darcy. She's the local candidate most in need of support. And I like Cantwell a lot, but she really needs a wake-up call. Donate late for her. We absolutely can't afford to lose the Senate seat... but we can't afford Cantwell the luxury of forgetting why we elected her in the first place.

From what I can see Dreamer, I think the bigger threat to Maria is a divided democratic electorate that would hurt her chances, particularly those troubled by her pro-Iraq war stance. I don't see the republican passion and interest in Mcgaverick that I see in the Burner/Reichert race imo.

Roger Goodman

Way to go!! Nice contribution to anti-abortion Casey!

Good job!

Wow D - you're a moron!

Yes, he might not be pro-choice - but he's a billion times better than the also anti-choice Rick Santorum.

Willis and Will have the goods -- Jon Tester for Senate in Montana. There's just a week to go before their primary, and he's in a tough race to be the one who will beat Conrad Burns in November.

As Kos says, Tester's a 3rd-generation rancher, Morrison (his opponent in the D primary) is a 3rd-generation politician.

Think Brian Schweitzer, think Peter Goldmark ... Jon Tester is the real deal.

Darcy!
... does this mean I have to buy the pins / contribute now? ok then!

Music for America is a great political non-profit that I have had the pleasure to work for in the past... They are trying to raise money for their new Text Voter campaign, registering people to vote via text message (whuh? check it out www.musicforamerica.org)

Music and politics... You like that stuff, right Stranger?
