I Can Tell You What I’m Afraid Of…

Posted by on May 29 at 8:02 AM

It’s this.

Republican Party leaders continue to talk seriously about a continuation of the dynasty, a Bush III administration, with Jeb as a candidate in 2012 or 2016, when the memory of the current president’s dismal poll ratings will be less of a factor. That, at least, is what happened the last time around: President George Bush’s unpopularity at the end of his term in 1992 did not hurt his eldest son when he ran for president eight years later.

Perhaps Mary “I Ate Heather’s Pussy and All I Got Was This Lousy Constitutional Amendment” Cheney can be Jeb’s VP.

If it cheers you up any, just remember that voters will still be suffering the effects of this Bush administration's policies well beyond 2016.

Of course, there's still the issue of how votes are counted...

Exactly, we will be feeling the impact of W's policies and I suspect Jeb doesn't have the stomach for a run at the presidency. He'd rather be an NFL commissioner.

Don't forget - all 'W' wanted to be was *baseball* commissioner.
And 'Bar' (another martini, George) always planned for son *Jeb* to be President...

We'll still be feeling the effects of W's policies in 2012, but it remains to be seen if the "values" voters grow up by then.

Meh, Jeb or not, whoever the Rs field is going to be a douchebag, so what difference does it make?

Jeb won't run in 2008, he's said so a million times now.

Hi Dan!
A little off topic, but I didn't see it anywhere else on SLOG. Plus, I know how much you love to diss the Seattle Times. Did you happen to read today's letters to the editor?

Well... The first letter, in support of the Federal Marriage Amendment and written (err-plagiarized) by a certain Elisa Baggenstos of Renton, was automatically generated using the Focus on the Family website. FotF has this clever little feature that allows users to "write" a four-paragraph letter to the editor by simply choosing one of five options for each paragraph. Make a few stylistic changes, cut and paste onto an email, send to the Seattle Times and voila!

See for yourself: http://www.family.org/cforum/images/lettergen/mpa/gen.html

Ms. Baggenstos opted for options 3,1,3, and 3 for her letter to the editor.

I've written to the Seattle Times, but I can't guarantee they'll print my letter or even make note of the plagiarized letter in tomorrow's edition.

Thanks for the detective work, BWA, I've just asked the Editors over at the Times the same question.

Well. That was frightening. Worse than a slasher film. You have to wonder when the "Curse of the Kennedys" will start to strike the Bush clan.

{links} - nice site!
