Catholic Church Unfairly Maligned!

Posted by on May 19 at 8:12 AM

The Da Vinci Code opens today—and, gee whiz, the Catholic Church is feeling unfairly maligned. Gosh, I wonder what that feels like?

“Although the particular inclination of the homosexual person is not a sin, it is a more or less strong tendency toward an intrinsic moral evil; and thus the inclination itself must be seen as an objective disorder.”
Under the new instruction, the Church said it cannot admit to the seminary and to holy orders those who practice homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies, or support the so-called “gay culture.”
“Church teachings describe homosexual orientation as ‘objectively disordered’ and loving intimate acts as ‘intrinsically evil.’ In the last few weeks the Pope himself declared that same sex marriage is ‘a deplorable distortion’ and adoption by gay or lesbian parents ‘a grave danger.’â€

And on and on. In other Catholic news…

Spokane Diocese Sex Abuse Deal Rejected A federal judge rejected a $45.7-million settlement Thursday for 75 people who have filed sex abuse claims against the bankrupt Roman Catholic Diocese of Spokane…. The judge, noting that bankruptcy law calls for settlements to be “fair and equitable” to all parties, decided the deal favored the 75 people over other alleged victims, lawyers for both sides said.

Spokane Bishop William Skylstad, president of U.S. Catholic bishops, is among the clerics accused of abuse in the bankruptcy claims.

In a decision approved by Pope Benedict XVI, the Vatican has said the founder of the Legionaries of Christ, accused of sexually abusing minors, should not exercise his priestly ministry publicly…. Nine former Legionaries, one of whom is now dead, publicly accused Father Maciel of sexually abusing them when they were teenage seminarians in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s.

Short beady eyed pope Benedictus
Would sneer at an altar boy’s rictus
As he wetted his bum
With his white papal cum
I’m the pope, not a court will convict us.

Make tha slightly greenish and reeking cum -- I know he loves aspergrus - eats it almost daily in a hundred Papal Dishes......

All night i watched a gagillion commentators on every channel complain that this work of fiction was packed with "lies" and betrayed the sacred "truths" of the Christianity. AS if the Bible wasn't the most outrageous work of fiction claiming to be truth EVER.

Well you know, when you've convinced a lot of people that your lies are the truth, then someone else comes along and says your "truth" is a lie, by using lies to expose your lies, then your lies have to be even more strongly defended as truth, while at the same time you must convince everyone that their lies are being presented as truth, and not in fact lies, even though they've never said their lies were truth, like you've said your lies are truth, at which point their lies beome -

*POP!*

Back there in seminary school, I'm told, it's still all Lavender Mafia all the time. The Catholic Church's big small-c catholic tent still shelters sinners from their own perversity-diversity.

Still, there are days like this, when Hollywood & Dan & Limerick Tim knee the Church in the groin, that I wish the Church had less Lavender & more Mafia. Pain is a good teacher. The Religion of Peace proves that militant Jihad works. So does Inquisition. So does Pauly Walnuts, good Catholic that he surely is.

Peace.

Lavender of course has nothing to do with it. The problem is hypocrisy, pedophile prelates, many of them rabidly conservative (e.g. Marcial Maciel himself), covering up the actions of their pedophile charges. It's already quite mafia-esque. The first rule about fondle little boys club is don't talk about fondle little boys clubs. Time to prosecute them like the raceteers they are. They could start with Benedictus himself, who in his former job recommended hiding all of the evidence on US pedophile priests at the Vatican consulate, so that they couldn't be prosecuted.

Yeah. The spokane diocese situation is interesting. First, how can they settle with 75 of the claimants but not the others? And second, how can they enter into a settlement when there's no guarantee that they even have the money to do so (without first selling some property, for instance.)?

Tom Cruise whining about Scientology, Catholics whining about Da Vinci, Jews claiming god gave them Israel. If we could rid the world of followers of these superstitions there'd be no child molesters in America, and no Israel to cause problems in the Middle East.

Hey this Christian poem was funny,

Short beady eyed pope Benedictus
Would sneer at an altar boy’s rictus
As he wetted his bum
With his white papal cum
I’m the pope, not a court will convict us.

Here's a Jew poem

The Jews say God gave them land
For their people to grow and expand
Only people lived there
But the Jews don’t despair
Bombs and rockets are their God’s helping hand

I'm a lawyer. No shit. Do you have to be catholic to represent those people? I bet there's a lot of money to be made with a quick conversion.
How hard is it to fake? Just do that cross thing when flying with clients?

To be Catholic you just cross yourself and molest little boys.

To be Jewish you just try to get everything cheap and bring up the Holocaust every five minutes.

Religion is stupid.

Tim takes us from a seminal Benedictus-rictus smear to a cover-up smear that is at least supported by facts. The great thing about scat-satire trash limericks is that crap rappers can slime, malign, slander, & libel the Bible while being very sure that no court will convict (us). The great thing about America is that scatological (c)rappers can hide behind satire to accuse the Pope of buggery, while being very sure that the Papist Muj won't cut their heads off.

Yes, I waste time by reading newspapers. I know the news was spun to shield gays in the seminary, & that it was spun to turn the scandal into a media indictment of the "conservative" hierarchy.

But I'm unreconstructed on this one, aside from admitting the obvious: bureaucratic pathology played its evil part (buggering priests were being transferred, not arrested). But good sources demonstrate to my satisfaction that the scandal had a huge un-conservative PC component. Buggers were protected by buggers, which maybe was Tim's point.

I've invested no emotional capital in this. Am not & have never been a Papist. But I'm shocked that the 'church militant' is so soft & supine that it rolls over & takes it, again & again, whether 'it' is Hollywood sinema in which it's not polite to flip off anybody but conservative Christians in general & conservative Christian Catholics in particular; or whether Tim is 'it.'

All I suggest is that the religion of Christ would get more respect if it acted like the Religion of Peace, but I don't advocate the flattering immitation. No fatwas & violent Jihads for me, thanks, but an occasional beheading for blasphemous limericks might pencil out in the calm calculus of cost-benefit analysis. Think of it as pollution abatement.
