Welcome Home, Speaker Speaker!

Posted by on April 21 at 12:15 PM

The Stranger’s 2006 Big Shot winners, Speaker Speaker, have been on tour for a good two weeks, but tonight they’re finally back in Seattle’s warm embrace. Well, almost. They’re in Redmond, actually, at the Old Fire House, where they’ll play an all-ages show with Schoolyard Heroes and Paris in Arms. If you haven’t yet, be sure to give Speaker Speaker a listen, as they’re currently one of my favorites. And fans of Sicko, Jawbreaker, and Ted Leo MUST check them out. Seriously, it’s required. If you don’t, I’ll find out and and write you a citation.

Four prime time nationally televised games next season!

Has anyone else noticed how the music on game days is getting better? By the time of the Championship game they were mostly playing some pretty deep house (I think that is what it was). The special teams were groovin, and they had the pa dialed in right. Keep it up DJ 'Hawk.

Mon Frere are playing too! the lineup:

SCHOOLYARD HEROES
MON FRERE
SPEAKER SPEAKER
PARIS IN ARMS

in reverse, of course. doors at 7pm.

i have checked them out. every song i've heard sounds like a poor conglomeration of the mid-90's roster of Lookout Records. you cite some great bands, megan, and speaker speaker is nowhere near any of them.
