The Right to Bear Arms (and Vice Versa)

Posted by on April 26 at 14:56 PM

At last, the p.r. moment all you munitions-libertarians have been waiting for—a news story about a killing in self-defense (sorta). Lucky for these guys that they live in Forks, Washington, USA, instead of some quasi-fascist police state like England, where it’s much, much harder to get good rifles (even if the resultant medical attention would be cheaper—those Brits have their priorities all fucked up).

The process of natural selection plays out. I would pay to see the look on that hunter's face at the moment that bear turned the tables.

oh, sorry, I thought this was about arming bears. never mind.

bears now demand protection under the 2nd amendment!!

BEARS ARE PEOPLE TOO!!!

our departed bear would have lived if he had been able to purchase a gun

Like there woudn't be some seedy looking deer and elk types roaming around the woods offering to sell stolen rifles at a reduced cost?

It's good that the bear got something in before the poor creature was killed. But hey, these "old boys" were most likely what you'd call simply "redneck morons."
Not all gun owners are redneck morons or even hunters. Some are college professors or teachers.
Back in the 1960s, the Black Panthers exercised their Second Amendment rights to bear arms against overzealous and ignorant police forces in Oakland CA and Seattle WA.
Hunting is a so-called sport whose time is well passed. As a bumper sticker you could get from a vendor in Berkeley CA used to say, "Support the right to arm bears!"

at least the bears aren't using black powder and hunting bows ... then they'd have to track them down and eat them if they were wounded ...

This was just a couple miles away from where I grew up and spend my summers...weird
