Tebelius Still Silent.

Posted by on March 15 at 17:25 PM

I just got another press release from GOP State Party Chair Diane Tebelius. It was titled: “Censure Watch Day 3. Cantwell Still Silent.”

Since I called Tebelius yesterday to challenge the premise of her original press release (see my Slog post earlier today, which ended up getting linked at Salon.com!), and since Tebelius has yet to call me back: I’m starting “Inaccurate Press Release Watch Day 2. Tebelieus Still Silent.”

I called her assistant again today, and he said she was getting on a plane, but he’d have her call me.

Hey:

Suppose the Dem's take the US House this Fall. (By winning in the WA-8 Bellevue and other "purple" places). Then suppose they muster successful impeachments of both Bush and Cheney, say by mid-'07. Wouldn't the chain of command then fall to the Speaker of the House, the newly minted Democratic leader?

I'm for that.

If she ever calls back, you might also give her the opportunity to condemn the state Republican telemarketing campaign for telling Lake Stevens residents about how Democrats allowed a sex offender to move into their city. Diane, do you agree with creating hysteria, then exploiting it for political gain? If not, what are you going to do to these rogue members of your party?

Meanwhile, on Yahoo news: "The idea of impeaching Bush resides firmly outside the political mainstream."

Firmly, even!

OK, you keep telling yourselves that. Of course, Democratic senators and congressmen aren't doing much to alter anyone's perceptions there, and actually represent the people who voted them in, but still - grrrrr.

Tom-- what are you talking about? Is this in the news?

It was on KUOW this morning. Everybody else has reported on the hysteria in Lake Stevens, but only KUOW traced the source.
