PR Tonight

Posted by on March 1 at 15:04 PM

Fun’s almost over kids. We’re down to Danny V., Chloe, and the ever-contentious Santino. (RIP Diana and Nick—my season faves)

Tonight we find out Tim Gunn’s Big Secret for the trio, and visit the designers as they begin their collections.

Will the Young and Lovely Danny V. continue to woo audiences with his taut skin and pillow lips?

Will Rasputin be able to staunch the hemorrhaging of his recent fashion aesthetic and design something wearable for a change?

Has Chloe been stockpiling her Feminine Hysterics to unleash like weepy little locusts on us all?

I sure hope so.

I expect to be pleasantly surprised by all three collections, and I might have to rethink my aversion to Santino. Now that would be a finale.

Wait, are you sure Tim's "surprise" that makes Chloe cry is tonight? I thought tonight was just the episode where they went to their houses and talked about how they were doing, what their plans were, etc.

Daniel's collection was clean (read: boring). Chloe's was sharp, but she overkilled with sheen fabrics and 80's shoulder architecture. Santino's was nice but a bit of a compromise from his usually lavish vision.

I think Tim's surprise will be that Debra Messing is the guest judge.

nick rhymes with dick

debra messing isn't a surprise to us, though, and you wouldn't think they'd hype a suprise that the audience was already aware of.

i think it has something to do with their models from the rest of the season.

Go Santino -

But then, maybe, Daniel in chaps with not much else -

Broke Back Style -

If any of them was shrewd the collection would be a new take on western motifs in high fashion and call it something from the high society for the Cowboy West, as in Denver Opera night, or at the Davenport in Spokane in full ritz ....

But that would be so Austin Scarlett! If you remember, he did a major Americana collection as the "fourth winner" last time. It was so...suedey-looking and filled with cowboy hats. I thought it was a leetle too Lauren, but whatever. I love that guy.

Loved what I saw of Santino's collection. I've seen the rest on the net, but you don't get the great details or flaws in jpegs. For instance, you couldn't tell how absolutely home ec Daniel's bags were until tonight's episode. My god.

The final challenge is nothing but sadistic. The final three are busting their asses for the high point of their meager existences... and they're told they have 48 hours to add another dress? Really, there's laws against that sort of thing.

The handles on Daniel's bags looked like the ones my older sister had in the 70's. They had wooden handles and fabric covers that buttoned on. Ugh!

I love Daniel's work, but the handles were a little much.

However, that pattered jacket with the detailing on the back was amazing!

So was that awesome white coat with the cool collar. Chloe's stuff was so bad it was hilarious. Geisha much?

Jasper,
The collar was beautiful. Not sure why Tim was so blah about it all. When he saw the stuff in daniels apartment, he was much more positive. Hmmmm

Last nights epi. seemed like a blatant attempt to show us the 'softer side' of Santino. (Oh look at Santino with the cute cuddley little kids - awwwh, see he's not so bad. That combined with Tim's attitude toward Daniel - 5 time challenge winner and everybody's favorite - makes me think they are setting us up. Or trying to make it more interesting? I can't wait for next week.

Nice site
