Whatever. If O'Connor were worried about far-right political forces destroying the separation of powers that keeps our democracy honest, and the far-right's politicizing of the judiciary through irresponsible jurisprudence and extra-legal means, she wouldn't have waited to retire during a Republican presidential administration. And she wouldn't have signed onto Bush v Gore.
