True--though probably a bit of both.
um leaking (stealing and then releasing them free) tracks is not fair use.
though, i don't agree with going after the fans like this, it's simply not fair use.
it's a a bad move, but we're talking about ryan adams and UMG. so is it really surprising? no.
all in all nothing to see here. just giving a prick musician and UMG some probably well appreciated press time.
