MFOTD

Posted by on March 17 at 10:02 AM

Oh mayonnaise fans, please forgive me for neglecting to post a fact of the day yesterday. It sure was a busy day. To make up for it, though, I have this extra special MFOTD… a recipe for Green Mayonnaise in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day (found on epicurious.com)!

Enjoy!

2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon
3 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chervil
2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Pulse herbs in a blender with lemon juice and 1/2 cup mayonnaise until puréed. Add remaining 1/2 cup mayonnaise, salt, and pepper and blend well.

Transfer to a bowl and chill, covered, at least 2 hours to allow flavors to blend.

Makes about 1 cup.

Sounds yummy but all you have to do is add green food coloring to mayo. I'm sure that would do the trick!

Something about "pulse" as a verb is freaking me out but I can't put my finger on it.

At first I was hesitant to kill my head lice using mayo, but now that I have a green alternative I will be lice-free by this evening. Thanks, Megan!

You can make Orange Mayonnaise by bleeding into it. Just a little.

no FNARF, NO! I will never be able to eat another deviled egg.

You could also just go to Uwajimaya and buy some wasabi mayonnaise.
