Speaking of Project Runway…

Posted by on February 22 at 18:25 PM

The Seattle Times ran this appallingly bad piece yesterday on the forthcoming finale. If I was the editor who was generous enough to ship a writer off to Fashion Week, I just might fire her for turning in something this poorly written. “Thanx,” indeed.

Big words coming from the worst writer at The Stranger...

Nice try, Grace, but the proof is in the pudding. And on the web.

I'm not really sure where you're going with that, Ampersand. Hannah Levin is hadns down the worst writer at The Stranger, I don't think anyone can really argue with that. Though she is right--that piece in the Times was appalling.

That article was terrible. Someone should be smacked for sending Dear Pamela to fashion week. What a Waste.

And Grace, what a ridiculous and awkward attack on Hannah. I think she's a great writer, but that's beside the point. We're attacking someone else right now. Get with the program.

I disagree, Cienna--it's not ridiculous to think that Ms. Levin isn't a great writer. I've often thought, and discussed with others, that she should stop pretending to be a music journalist and just start a blog since a lot of what she writes ends up being more about her than about her subject matter. It was a little rude to just throw that out there, though, Grace and I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say she's the worst writer.

Take it to the forums, guys.

Editorializing has never bothered me, which is I suppose where we differ regarding Hannah's writing. Regardless, I found Grace's execution of her criticism to be ridiculous and awkward--not her opinion.
Criticism is the crux of good discussions, and I think it's invaluable to most writers.
But throwing an unrelated taunt at Hannah after a short and hurried slog post is not good criticism. It is petty.

Agreed wholeheartedly.
