RIP J DILLA

My favorite beatsmith, widely regarded as the best hiphop producer ever, James Yancey AKA J Dilla AKA Jay Dee, has passed- presumably due to the health troubles that have plagued him in the last 2 years.

with him goes hiphop as i understand it. peace to jay dee, who is the leading reason why local hiphop has a new sound. this is a sad day indeed.

very insightful- jake and vita both put that cat on the pedestal he deserves to be on. what's sad is that most are unfamiliar with his name- yet most know his work, like de la's 'stakes is high' and pharcyde's 'runnin'.
this sucks.
