The opening sentence of this report says it all: “Iranians love Danish pastries, but when they look for the flaky dessert at the bakery they now have to ask for ‘Roses of the Prophet Muhammad.’”
I would like to point out that the Danes do not refer to delicious pastries as "danishes" but rather "Austrian bread" - there is technically nothing Danish about a danish.
That said, Larsen's Danish Bakery has a killer kringle.
