Kevorkian Time, Indeed

Posted by on February 14 at 15:17 PM

Christ, no wonder Grandaddy broke up. Their forthcoming record is entitled Just Like the Fambly Cat and contains a track with the refrain “Meow, meow-meow-meow-meow, meow, meow”, an utterly irritating and endless reiteration that makes one wonder if Lady Elaine from Mister Rogers is about to start rapping. I used to love them during their Software Slump days, but good fucking riddance.

O-U-C-H! That hurt my feelings!

Would the song hurt them worse? Should hardcore fans avoid?

If you're a hardcore fan, you should make up your own mind, gentle reader--but I found it unlistenable.

It sounds horrible. Bummer. I've enjoyed each album progressively less and hoped their latest would be a robust sayanara to their fans.

(btw, it's sophtware slump-- just sayin')

the ep that came out before this ("diary of toddzilla") had some rather unlistenable portions too. oh well.

What's wrong with the "Meow Mix" commercial song? I think that's a great choice for a cover version!

Way to whittle a beautiful, brilliant song down to one element doesn't sit well with you. I predict you'll be sitting alone in the haters department when the rest of the world hears it.

I've heard the whole album and it's by far the best Grandaddy effort ever.

And if you really loved Grandaddy during the "Software Slump" days you might know that it's actually Sophtware Slump.

Oops. I left out a "that" in my first sentence. Guess I'm dumbed-down from listening to that unlistenable song about 10 times today.

This site is a lot of fun very well designed.

Hope you come back soon!!
