Fremont people gone?

Posted by on February 20 at 11:16 AM

Old news? Maybe. But the statues in Fremont, the concrete people that folks would decorate for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and such, are gone. Or they were last night. Anyone know what’s up?

"Old news" in that the statue, "Waiting For The Interurban" was moved because they're going to start doing all that work on renovating the bridge area there in Fremont. Don't worry, they're just over in front of the Fremont history museum.

The people are just down the street, about a block or so west on 34th. I believe it's temporary. There's a sandwich board outside Peet's - at least there was - that explains what's going on.

So you believe everything you read on a sandwich board? (Which is obviously some sort of loaded pro-Dead White Male term. Why not a "falafel board"?)

Yeesh, Megan, where have you been? Every Seattle blog in existence not named Slog covered this weeks back.

Now if they can just get rid of those hideous brushed metal "art" swirlies that are climbing that corner building. Yuck!
