Anyone who knows anything about shotguns will tell you that 28 gage birdshot could barely penetrate a shirt at 30 yards (90 feet), much less skin. The spread pattern would be 6'-8'.

Whittington was hit on the RIGHT side, and yet at least some birdshot penetrated all the way through his chest cavity to his heart (which is on the LEFT side of the body, for those of you not familiar with basic organ placement). He had a minor heart attack, and spent almost a week in ICU (for privacy???).

There is no way that 28 gage birdshot at 30 yards could have caused anything close to the injuries Whittington sustained. But never mind ballistics 101. According to the local sheriff, the case is closed.

So I think this calls for a Stranger spononsored first annual Dick Cheney Dummy Shooting and Drinking Verification Party. We dress up dummies as Dick Cheney and blast them to smithereens from progressively closer distance.
