Al Jazeera Poll on Muhammad Cartoon

Posted by on February 6 at 11:05 AM

This latest poll from Al Jazeera doesn’t really seem to be asking the right question. Shouldn’t they be asking if violence and death threats are an appropriate response to a cartoon?

Check out the poll on the Arabic Al-Jazeera website
Bottom of page http://aljazeera.net/ with the results here:

Any native Arabic speakers should feel welcome to correct my own limited Arabic, but I believe the question asks:

"Is the position of the Islamic governments toward the cartoons that defame Islam -- strong, appropriate, or weak?"
Strong has 5%, Appropriate 10%, Weak 85%

Dude, that CANNOT be right. Really? The other polls seem to indicate that at least about half of al-jazeera readers are not batshit crazy.

Ballardite -- the poll I cited is from the Arabic version, the poll Josh cited is from the English version. I would imagine that the Arabic version reflects mostly the views of people from the region while the English version would reflect the views of an international audience.

of course stefan sharkansky is batshit crazy, so how can you trust him.
