I love Juno. Juno is dead.

Posted by on January 19 at 16:10 PM

I’m not the only one who misses Juno, the defunct local rock band, right? Of course not, they were great! Now fellow fans can rejoice because frontman Arlie Carstens (who has since relocated to LA) is working on a new project called Ghost Wars. A bunch of Seattle musicians have collaberated with Carstens, including Rosie Thomas, Jay Clarke and Derrick Fudesco of Pretty Girls Make Graves, Cory Murchey of Minus the Bear, Nate Mendel of the Foo Fighters, as well as former Juno bandmate Gabe Carter, and the results are pretty awesome.

If you’re curious (and you probably are), a few tracks are available via myspace at www.myspace.com/ghostwarsmusic. Go. Listen. Love.

Oh God do I miss Juno! Thank you very much for the link.

Quick Juno story...I remember seeing them with The Prom (anoter band I really miss) and that hardcore band with the dude from Bright Eyes (that nobody can pronounce) at the old Paradox and it was AMAZING. They played their cover of DJ Shadow's Influx and I went nuts. Still one of my favorite shows ever.

Juno were perhaps the best band to have such a shitty vocalist. They should've only ever recorded instrumentals.

Those Ghost Wars songs are great; I'm sure this record will be terrific.

Jerry, you're nuts.

Jizosh, the DJ Shadow cover was actually "High Noon." Always a crowd-pleaser.

Juno will indeed be missed.

I remember that Paradox show! It was fantastic! I miss the Prom too. James Mendenhall (singer, pianist) actually has another project as well, Silent Script I think it's called. Or he did. I can't seem to find it on Myspace right now... weird.

Anyways, I do love Juno's DJ Shadow cover. The rest of that split EP (with the Dismemberment Plan) is really great too. D-Plans cover of "Crush" is so eerie... They're yet another band that I really miss.

Thanks for the special work and information!
