Alaska Air Abuses Doggies
But, really, why should Alaska treat their canine passengers any better than they treat their human passengers?

Sickening. I very seriously doubt that bringing in extra supervisors to train these people will stop such abuses. The employee who did this and those who didn't report it need a stronger lesson such as firing. Then Alaska needs to ask what sort of culture allows for this to happen. To my mind, it's clearly a systemic problem.
This is certainly terrible (and I'm now with Dan in the "anyone but Alaska" camp, but I would put flying your dogs across the country in a cargo hold in January just below it on the animal cruelty list.
