Turncoats and the Rs That Love Them

Posted by on December 6 at 14:46 PM

Oliver Willis points to this latest nonsense from Senator Joe Lieberman:

Lieberman, whom the Bush administration has praised repeatedly for his war stance, defended the president. “It’s time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge he’ll be commander-in-chief for three more years,” the senator said. “We undermine the president’s credibility at our nation’s peril.”

Can we just go ahead and trade Lieberman to the Republicans for, say, a box of thumb tacks? He’s certainly not doing the Ds any good.

I would trade Sen. Joe Lieberman for a box of rusty medical tools, a three legged pomeranian, a hobo, Richard Conlin, The Newmark Building, the McDonald's dollar menu, the city if Fife, pimento olives, and a 1983 Buick Skylark. Oh, and Denny Park.

It sounds like he might finally have a contender, though: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051206/ap_on_el_se/lieberman_criticism

Sure, he used to be a Republican, but if he can stand up to GWB I'll take him.

Oooh, could we be rid of that nasally voice for good??

So much for the concept of 'the loyal opposition'.

My fingers are crossed, and the Connecticutites I know (my in-laws, for the most part) will be getting an earful from me.

He has to say crap like that or they won't make him Secretary of Defense.
