INDICTMENT NIGHT PARTY —> Tonight!
Well, Fitzgerald has finally spoken, announcing earlier today that the vice president's chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, has been indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice in the CIA leak case. On TV, Fitzgerald came across as the tough, smart-as-hell prosecutor he's rumored to be, but he also looked like a man who could use a drink.
And who couldn't at this point? On the theory that there are more than a few obsessed Seattle liberals who could use a drink themselves (not to mention a break from hitting their "refresh" buttons), we're hosting an INDICTMENT NIGHT PARTY tonight at The Mirabeau Room, 529 Queen Anne Ave N., from 6 - 9 p.m.
Whether you'd like to toast the demise of Libby, or the continued pursuit of Rove, or just want to talk with other CIA leak case watchers about the way those Aspens tend to turn in the fall, we'll be happy to offer you a drink.
And not just any old drink, but drink specials and special drinks, such as:
The Judith Miller, so strong you'll forget where you ever heard the name Valerie Plame, or Flame, or whatever
The Fitzgerald, a straight shot of Irish whiskey, in honor of our straight-shooting special prosecutor
The Scooter Libby (aka The Scooter Shooter), which will of course involve Tequila
The George W. Bush, a non-alcoholic beer followed by "a Texas-sized shot of straight whiskey"
The Valerie Flame, a flaming shot of a fancy, sophisticated, and currently top-secret substance
Also, assuming his plane gets in on time this evening, Congressman Jim McDermott will stop by to offer a toast and a D.C. perspective on this juicy political drama. See you there!
