Attention, Laptop Music Wizards

Posted by on October 7 at 10:55 AM

The Stranger’s 2004 Genius Award-winning organization Seattle School wants YOU for their hot new performance competition series The Pop Smear Test. Full info below.

Seattle School—creators and producers of the long-running IRON COMPOSER series—are looking for laptop producers to compete in their new medical-themed laptop battle series THE POP SMEAR TEST, which debuted in August at Bumbershoot and is now an ongoing monthly series at EMP's Liquid Lounge.

THE POP SMEAR TEST puts a spin of bones, blood and flesh - literally - on the typical laptop battle. Two laptop producers go through three rounds of making dance tracks comprised soley of audio collected from the physical bodies of the audience that evening. The "judgement" of the tracks is taken from the involuntary physical reactions of the audience, gagued by medical readings taken by two Registered Nurses in three categories: blood pressure, heart rate, and body temperature.

Producers are needed for the following dates at Liquid Lounge:

Saturday, Oct 22nd: DJ Nordic Soul VS. ??
Friday, November 25th: ?? VS. ??

For consideration to compete in TPST, or for a complete set of the Rule of Gameplay, contact Korby Sears at 206-335-3500 or korbys@earthlink.net.
